Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
