The Blues head coach Enzo Maresca announced on Friday that Cole Palmer is set to return for the squad's important top-flight encounter against London rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old English international was unavailable due to a broken toe sustained after an accidental occurrence.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca commented. “All involved are pleased.”

This season, Palmer has featured in just four games in every contest, scoring twice.

Since his arrival from Manchester City in 2023, he has notched 45 scores and 29 helpers in 101 appearances for the London club.

“He is our top performer, we are delighted he is back, we need to give him time to be completely ready,” Maresca added. “His past performances have been excellent and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

Everton have failed in their appeal against Idrissa Gueye's dismissal for an on-field altercation with fellow player Michael Keane during the squad's narrow win at Old Trafford.

Gueye quickly said sorry, and the pair appeared making up later in a mock social media post.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” coach David Moyes stated. “We haven’t been given any reason why it was turned down but we did appeal it.”

Inquired about more issues from the incident, Moyes continued: “It was over immediately, it was done, that was it, we progressed quite quickly and it was all sorted within the dressing room.”

The club's new acquisition Yoane Wissa has practiced with his new teammates for the first time since sustaining a knee injury shortly after his move from Brentford in September.

5. Morgan Gibbs-White Could Feature for Forest against Brighton

The club's manager Sean Dyche is optimistic that Morgan Gibbs-White will be available for the side's home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on the weekend.

The defender was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring after the 3-0 Europa League victory, but Dyche indicated the player “is expected to be okay”.

Meanwhile, the full-back (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to be unavailable.
