Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
