Information Available Concerning the Victims of the Bondi Beach Terrorist Incident

Alexander Kleytman was also confirmed among the deceased, according to his wife.

She recounted the events before the attack, stating they were standing when the shooting began. “He shielded me because he wanted to stay near me,” she stated.

The husband and wife were both survivors of the Holocaust, having faced unspeakable terror in their childhood. They had subsequently moved to Australia from Ukraine.

Dan Elkayam

French foreign ministry have confirmed that French national Dan Elkayam is among the dead.

In a statement, the Foreign Minister declared that France stood with his family, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.

“This cowardly attack is a fresh and tragic example of a disgusting rise of antisemitic hatred that we must put a stop to,” the statement read.

One Child

A 10-year-old girl who was rushed to the a children's hospital succumbed to her injuries, police have confirmed.

One Israeli Citizen

One victim from Israel was a fatality during the attack, according to reports citing the Israeli foreign ministry.

Those Injured

Of the 42 people taken to hospitals, many are still under care, with a number in a critical state. Those hurt comprise two police officers who attended the scene.

One of the injured is a member of the public who attempted to intervene to confront one of the gunmen. Described as a hero, he received gunshot wounds but is recovering well in hospital.

Arsen Ostrovsky

Among the injured is Arsen Ostrovsky, a public affairs professional. Sources state he was wounded and is receiving treatment in hospital.

Communicating, he recounted the scene as an “absolute bloodbath,” but also praised the response of those who rushed to help. He said he felt it was a “miracle” he survived.

Evan Zlatkis

Evan Zlatkis, a community director, was another casualty in the shooting. He told reporters he listened to “dozens and dozens” of gunshots.

“I thought it was something less lethal, but it penetrated my own skin and into my leg,” he stated. “I sustained a gunshot wound. I received first aid. I’m ok.”
