Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
