Starting Eleven

Dean Henderson Had little to do required during the opening 45 but then called into action from Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. His sliding tackle against Qazim Laci demonstrated sharp game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Tested by the opposition's main danger in Hoxha. Played in a central role to begin with but moved out wide once a teammate was introduced. 7/10

The defender Moved into midfield when in possession, as he has done before. On occasion seemed hesitant in possession and the approach abandoned after the break. 6

The tall defender Always dangerous from dead balls, typically, perhaps is a replacement for Stones in defense instead of his partner. One wayward distribution after the break came close to the first goal for Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly Another confident display from the 20-year-old following his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka failed to make the most of a clever backheel behind the Albania defence. His position is firmly his at this stage. 7

The newcomer His maiden beginning for his country. Slightly careless when playing out though his whipped deliveries caused problems. A useful game manager for the boss to call upon against teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed foul. 6

The midfielder Crosses from corners and free-kicks created chances. Was given room to roam on the left yet found himself offside upon receiving in front of goal. Given a deserved rest around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced role out wide while also contributed with defensive duties. Showed moments of class and dragged an attempt over. Withdrawn in the closing stages by Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Had the team's top opening in the opening period, his strike excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate staying deep, he was forced to stretch the play on the right but his crosses from wide areas were hit and miss. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. Six

Harry Kane The match-winner netting two more strikes for his country. The opener a typical poacher’s finish and the second a classy headed goal following a clever run from his marker. At 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity next summer when he's in the team. 8

Eberechi Eze Struggled to get into the game on the left flank. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by the midfielder however the keeper kept it out. His replacement had a greater influence after coming on. 5
