The UK is set to progress with using the entire amount of immobilized Russian funds to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

United Kingdom penalties have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government launched its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, money allocated to Ukraine using Russia's funds had exclusively been drawn from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their desire to push forward toward using the total worth of the seized Russia's state holdings to end the war.

He stated that further restrictions over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement follows European officials convened in the Danish capital last week to debate utilizing seized Russia's assets for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or utilize immobilized Russian funds, according to media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's assets in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

Russia carried out widespread missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on that day, resulting in electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

In a message on X after the attack, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike targeted public and utility structures.

While commending the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he said it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as impose further restrictions on Moscow.
